A skiing weekendJanuary 29th, 2013 @ 10:51 am
Before our big trip, I actually made a reservation at the Kinderhotel in Seefeld to go for another weekend of skiing. Since the children enjoy skiing, so skiing weekend, here we came. Again, we went with Nicole and family. Since the children are in the same age group, they played well together.
When we arrived on Friday late afternoon, we quickly checked-in the pool, as always. The hotel has expanded since May. There is a new water sliding part and a whole new child care area. The water sliding part was not as impressive and as big as the one in Serfaus. Nevertheless, the children enjoyed it.
After dinner, we all headed back to our rooms to sleep. The next day was skiing day. We didn’t manage to book the morning skiing session, so we took the afternoon session. We then sent the kids to the hotel kid’s club while we went to the jacuzzi to relax in a child-free environment. We wanted to visit the spa but it only opened at 1pm. At that time, I was nursing a cold; my throat hurt, my nose was blocked and I started coughing. The night before that, I was running a low grade fever.
Anyway, after lunch, we headed to the Gschwandtkopf to meet up with the ski instructor. There would be 2 hours – 1st hour for Malaika and Basti and 2nd hour was for Kelsey, because Kelsey is a beginner. The older kids did very well with private instructor. After that, papa brought Malaika to some challenging slope. I was there for Kelsey, to take pictures of him and so on. He is still young. He actually looked for me at one point, when I was trying to take picture of the father-daughter duo skiing down the slope.

After the lesson, we headed back to the hotel and got ready for dinner. The children wanted to go to the pool, but we were too tired to bring them to the pool. I definitely didn’t have the energy because I felt the chills, meaning the fever had returned. We went to Seefeld for the snow festival, but because the skiing lesson was in the afternoon, so we missed the whole festival. There was a firework at 11pm, but it was definitely too late for the kids since they were out all day.
On Sunday, we arranged for another skiing lesson for the kids. And then they ski-ed among themselves.
some father son bonding time
skiing with their instructor
getting a medal for participating in a ski course
Then only we headed home. Phew …
